meeya cafe - cake painting, south melbourne

Mamma loves Meeya Cafe in South Melbourne - famous for its cake painting the coffee and menu is also lovely! The staff are lovely too. Mamma says make sure you plan a long visit as our cake decorating was so much fun it is worth taking your time.

How does the cake painting work?
Mamma says you don’t need a booking either! Just find yourself a table and order.

Once you have placed your order - a beautiful slice of butter cake is delivered right to your table, along with a variety of brushes and colourful edible frosting, ready for you to paint and decorate your slice however you like.

It’s such a fun, creative activity. We spent a good chunk of time enjoying our coffee and cake painting….and eating…YUM.

If you’re after a casual catch-up, a weekend outing, or something a little different, cake painting at Meeya Café is a brilliant option. It’s perfect for older kids and grown-ups with great food, friendly service.

Oh as it turns out, cake painting is surprisingly therapeutic!…and delicious.

Ok Barbie let’s go party - The Malibu Barbie Cafe has officially opened! If you head to Chadstone between now and January 2026, you’ll be able to enjoy the world of Barbie in all of its pink, plastic glory.

Ok Barbie let’s go party - The Malibu Barbie Cafe has officially opened! If you head to Chadstone Shopping Centre between now and January 2026, you’ll be able to enjoy the world of Barbie in all of its pink, plastic glory.

The two storey cafe includes a gift shop, skate rink and photo ops around every corner! The kids will love posing as a boxed up Barbie, sitting on the lifeguard chair and taking a call on the Barbie phone.

Grab a signature cocktail (or pink lemonade for the kids!) at The Ken Kabana. The all day dining menu means you can get your Barbie on for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Enjoy Pacific Paradise Pancakes, California Dream Rolls or some Malibu Mac n Cheese… just be sure to save room for dessert!

Think marshmallows, donuts, cupcakes and ice cream floats (served in a Barbie convertible car!). Can’t decide? Opt for the dessert sampler which includes a few of the dessert favourites aboard a Barbie boat - definitely a crowd pleaser!
